fact that the culture was
based on resourcefulness
intrigued me.
These boys made kites
from cloth and string. They
also made cars from sticks
and tin cans. They use their
imaginations and perhaps
that is what allows them to
become great storytellers,
poets and musicians.
Nothing is wasted in
the desert. Masters of
resourcefulness,
the
Bedouin are always making
anything out of nothing.
Whenever the Bedouin
set their minds to building
structures, such as this fence
made out of driftwood
and lashed together with
twine and wire scraps,
their creative, resourceful
side shines forth. The male
child runs free outside the
fence, while the mother
is more or less restricted
inside. The fence and veil
do provide protection for
the women as the men
fight with external foes,
and perhaps that was their
original purpose.
