Sean Butcher , trader - equity and FX , Legal & General Investment Management Sean Butcher joined Legal and General Investment Management in March 2020 and is part of the Equity and FX trading team . Sean ’ s main focus is on EMEA cash equities and global equity derivatives . Sell-side counterparties comment that “ Sean has shown great growth in his role as [ a ] trader at L & G . He has become a key person on the desk and will definitely be one to watch ”, whilst colleagues state “ Sean has done a great job for us at LGIM over the last few years and I cannot think of a better person suited to Rising Star !”.
Sean holds a Master of Mathematics degree from The University of Manchester and is a CFA Charterholder . Prior to LGIM , Sean worked at Canada Life Investments and carried out his internship at Schroders .

Christophe Carrizales , trader , Sandbar Asset Management Christophe Carrizales joined Sandbar Asset Management as a trader in 2022 , after gaining experience at Maven Securities as an equity and option trader covering L / S strategies . Christophe received a large number of nominations from across the industry and is described as “ reliable and accurate ” and “ precise in his execution ” by the sell-side , as well as having “ strong quantitative skills coupled with a deep fundamental analysis knowledge .” One buy-side peer added “ Christophe has had a great start to his buy-side career starting at Maven before recently moving to Sandbar Asset Management . At Maven , Christophe started by covering US trading before shortly including EMEA in his remit hence working both time zones . Furthermore , he covered cash equities as well as derivatives such as futures and options , all whilst showing interest in understanding investment rationales behind his PM ' s orders . Christophe shows an extraordinary willingness to learn and absorb information ; I believe he is a future star of this industry .”
Christophe holds an MSc in Financial Economics as well as an MSc in Business Management from EDHEC Business School and graduated in 2021 , after holding intern positions at Goldman Sachs , Société Générale , Natixis and Amundi .
