HEALTH
New Year, New You, Are you Sure?
By JENNIFER JONES CPT
With the new year upon us, many people
feel the need to make unrealistic health
and fitness based resolutions. Not realiz-
ing that waiting until the beginning of a
new calendar year has yet to prove a
higher success rate than any other time.
“Don't make yearly 'resolutions',
make changes DAILY to be a better
you. “
The reason being is that the date/day at
which you decide to make a change,
whether it be to improve your personal
health, or to stop smoking or drinking has nothing to do with whether you succeed or
not. The outcome will always depend on the action and time you invest into tackling
each and every issue.
So how do we stay motivated and
focused regardless of when we
start tackling a 'resolution'?
MAKE A TO DO LIST We all know that writing
things down helps us stay on track. Something
about crossing an item off a list gives us the
sense of accomplishment and keeps us moving
forward. So schedule your workouts and don't cancel on yourself. Write it down,
and cross it off!
