We are well into the school year, and the time where students are looking for clubs to join is rolling around. Right now is a great time to start promoting FBLA to everyone in your school and grow your chapter!
This year, our main goal is to increase Texas FBLA membership to at least 5,000. Furthermore, the Texas FBLA was selected by the National FBLA President as a buddy state in his program to increase FBLA membership nationwide. The State Action Team understands that the achievement of this goal requires a united effort, and the officers are willing to work as hard as we can to make this goal a reality.
This summer at NLC, Texas FBLA won first place in the Mountain Plains Region for chapter recruitment, and we hope to continue and build upon our stellar achievements.
Recently, many members of the State Action Team attended the Texas Career Education Conference (TCEC) in July. This conference is the largest gathering of Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers in the entire state of Texas, and the officers were able to promote the benefits of FBLA to many teachers, principals, and school district staff. In addition, we were even able to charter new FBLA chapters at the Conference!
Remember, the basis of each FBLA chapter is their members, so recruitment isn't just a beginning of the year activity. If your chapter would like to share a creative recruitment activity they did, please let us know at [email protected]! Feel free to contact your Area Vice President for tips on recruitment and membership retention.
Let's work together to achieve our goal of at least 5,000 Texas FBLA members by SLC!
