Cast and Catch Originally known as “ Feather Beach ”, Bowman Springs Park is named after the Bowman family . This 14-acre park located on the southeastern side of Lake Arlington features a fishing pier .

Hike and Bike Marti Van Ravenswaay Park is named in honor of former Arlington Parks and Recreation board member Marti Van Ravenswaay , who worked to preserve Arlington ’ s trees and parks .

Wildlife Watching The 60-acre Sheri Capehart Nature Preserve has three ponds to enjoy beautiful views , including downtown Fort Worth .

Boat Ramps There are boat launches at Richard Simpson Park and Bowman Springs Park . Paddlers can also enter an 11- mile paddling trail at either park , the first of its kind in the DFW area and the first flat-water trail in Texas .
Lake Arlington This manmade reservoir , built in the 1950 ’ s , provides drinking water for the City of Arlington and is a popular recreation area . There is an urban myth stating that the lake filled before all heavy equipment could be removed , but former Arlington Utilities Director John Kubala stated that this persistent belief is not accurate .
