Paddling Pursuit The River Legacy Trail-Boat Launch offers a convenient location for kayakers and canoers alike to launch . Always be weary of water conditions , as the river can be turbulent .
Wildlife Watching River Legacy Park is a 1031-acre forested area that also contains a portion of the 75-mile greenbelt adjacent to the Trinity River . Within the park is the River Legacy Living Science Center , a 12,000-square-foot nature center which features terrariums and aquariums .

Hike and Bike Enjoy a nice paved 8-mile-long hike and bike trail within River Legacy Park surrounded by wildlife and greenery .
Wildlife Watching Crystal Canyon Natural Area is a highlight of Arlington . This nature area is filled with geologic wonders and a 0.5-mile soft surface trail . Crystal Canyon contains a very diverse geologic profile with evidence that suggests a near-shore marine environment might have existed at one time . Marine shales , siltstones , mudstone containing inner beds of calcareous fossil clams , gypsum layers , and fine-grain sandstone have been found here .

Parkway Central Park Spanning 16 acres in northern Arlington , Parkway Central Park is a prime spot for recreation and relaxation .
J . W . Dunlop Sports Center
J . W . Dunlop served Arlington as a member of the Arlington Fire Department from 1953 - 1982 , then as an Arlington historian . This park named in his honor features a BMX trail , playgrounds , soccer fields , and more .
Jesse Chisholm-Historic Marker Jesse Chisholm represented the Republic of Texas and President Sam Houston in many negotiations with Native Americans . He spoke 40 Native languages and dialects and was a respected influence among southwestern tribes . He is best known for marking the Chisholm Trail across Oklahoma and Kansas . A historic marker with information about Jesse Chisholm can be found in River Legacy Park , next to two other historic markers .
