me in the vacant role of Head Golf Professional. As a gradaute myself (1998), I have been doing everything I can to keep the train on the tracks! Earlier this year, I was able to hire 2016 graduate, Nate Kitson, as our Assistant Golf Professional. Nate has brought his experience from Old Waverly Golf Club to our facility and has shown to be a creative mind in the retail operation. Finally, our agromony staff has experienced change on the heels of Mr. Pat Sneed's retirement. We were able to promote Jimmy McPherson from the role of Assistant Superintendent to Pat's former position and Jimmy was able to hire recent MSU Golf and Sports Turf Gradaute Jake Sorrells as his Assistant.

Merchandising and Branding

Rounds are not the only thing that has increased at the golf course. The look, feel, popularity, and profitability of the golf shop has increased to unprecendented heights over the last 2 years. If you are coming to our shop looking for traditional M-State logoed merchandise, you probably will not find it. What you may find might surprise you with the new feel of the shop. A challenge to be different and utilize our ventors to create unique items has been our driving force. We never believed we could do almost $400,000 per year in the shop but we are nearing those numbers. We continue to push all things maroon and have been able to brand MSU marks on everything in the shop and even the golf cars! Our TXT model golf cars with GPS included are true maroon with the golf car number cowbell decals. It's the little things, right?

Recap
