The cafeteria is a place for students to hang out with friends and eat their lunch. But recently, students have been complaining about just how crowded it can get in the cafeteria.

With such a large freshman class this year, and the highest overall enrollment the school has ever seen, the cafeteria is more crowded than ever. The lines are longer and more crammed, causing congestion issues when students are getting their food.

“It’s terrible. I don’t like being pushed up against two burly seniors while I’m trying to get my lunch," said Freshman Nathan Wedderburn. "It’s terrible!”

Some students are fed up with the crowding and have started to avoid the lunch lines as much as possible.

“I’ve gotten so sick of waiting in the lines. Now I just go to the express station every day, since that line is less crowded than the others,” said Junior Aaron Eberhard “A few days ago, I actually waited in line for pizza, and I’m never going to do that again.”

Some students believe that the crowding issue could be lessened if everyone would cooperate and be patient.

“I think that the lunch lines would be made better if people would stop being so pushy and would cooperate,” said Freshman Lacey Foster. “Everything would be much quicker and there wouldn’t be as much of a problem with pushing and shoving.”

Although students believe that there is an issue with crowding, administrators don't think it's an issue.

“We get everybody through there with plenty of time to eat within twenty minutes, which I think is extremely efficient.” Vice Principal Dave Krakoff said.

He stated that compared to other schools, the lines move pretty quickly.

“We’re actually being pretty efficient about it, and I think we should be thankful for the situation we have,” stated Krakoff.

Are Crowded Lunch Lines Causing a Problem?

Buffalo Beat Cafe is an event in which students can come and sing or play instruments and show all of there talent. These past years we have had the same choir director but we have recently hired a new one named Mr. Rowan.

When asked how this year might go he said “this year I am expecting to have a very talented group of students and I expect to have a very good turnout.”

At the event the turnout was great and there were many great performances and when questioning people at this event one freshman Lacey Foster said “the experience was very interesting and my favorite performance of the night was Cough Syrup which was sung by Dawson Berardi.”

Freshman Joseph Callahan when asked about his experience in being in this choir he said “as a freshman I loved the new experiences and the music was excellent!

I felt so happy listening to it all.”

One of the favorites of the crowd was “I See Fire” which was sung by Aidan Smith and Corey Dunning. All in all the night was an amazing experience for both performer and audience member.
