We're Bonkers for Bunco!
Since its introduction at Shrine Mont
this past June, Bunco has become
quite popular here at Resurrection.
Bunco is a fun and easy game using
dice that can be played by anyone
school-aged and up, making it a great
opportunity to get acquainted.
Everyone enjoyed themselves at
Shrine Mont—so much that it was
difficult not playing into the wee
hours. Of course, we had our church
service the next morning so we
realized that we’d better get some
sleep.
The game takes a few minutes to
learn and, even though it’s all the
luck of the roll, everyone has a great
time. At our July Bunco game, Kathy
Graham brought her brother, Tim,
who ended up being the big winner
of several categories and prizes. It

happy and proud. At the August
game night, there was no single
winner, but, since we played two
rounds, a lot more people had the
chance to win. There was plenty to
eat and the hot dog dinner was a hit.

peaceful world through self-awareness,
selfless behavior, and respect for the
physical world, fraternal love and service
to others. His teaching focused on seeking
out and alleviating the suffering of others.
So when I learned that The Church of Resurrection hosts the blessing of the
pets in honor of St. Francis, I was totally attracted to this community. This was
a special day for me and my beloved Nikky who had been my best friend for
the past 16 years. It was a special day that we looked forward to each year. Last
year was even more special as I look back, knowing that I needed to cherish all
these special moments as Nikky was getting more mature and her fragile life
was being compromised. I always was amazed how well she behaved in
church; she enjoyed getting dressed in the morning and she knew that Sunday
was our specia
