Tips for Getting Your SN Child Back to School

accommodations that will be made for your
child for the school year.
As special need parents, we often have to
fight for our kids - but it is always better to
know if the battle you are looking at is an actual battle or a misunderstanding. Services
often change each year as the students mature.
School can be scary for a special needs child
and parent. Yet, we have found some of our
best support through the teachers, therapist
and counsellors that are at our child’s school.
Make sure you partner together to make this
school year a pleasant one. †
Talk To Your Child
Depending on the understanding level of
your child, it is important to have conversations about what the school year will hold.
Let them know you are there for them, and
that you are going to help them to have a
great – and fun – school year.
