LANGUAGE CORNER - GERMANY My Experience from Germany Written by: Charlene Grade X Science SMA St Peter Jakarta At 10th August 2013’s evening I bid goodbye with Jakarta to leave for Germany. We are departing to Düsseldorf then we will take a 3 hour trip by bus to where we will be staying for the next 3 weeks, a small city called Bielefeld. The other group will be staying at a city called Sankt Peter-Ording. There are 17 people in total in my group, all from different cities in Indonesia, 1 teacher, 5 male students and 11 female students. On our way to Düsseldorf we stop by at Atatürk airport in Istanbul for transit. Then after a 3 hour trip we arrived at a hostel, the students are asked to take their keys and keep some of their money in a safe. The students other than the Indonesian ones are from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Oman, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and only one student from USA. My roommates come from Azerbaijan and Turkey and we don’t talk much as a roommate due to the language barrier, my friend from Azerbaijan is pretty fluent in German and not We depart from Jakarta at 7 pm and arrive at Düsseldorf the next day at 12 pm Germany’s time. 44 that fluent in English, and so is my Turkish roommate.
