Hey Mighty Southwest,

I am here to give you some updates on the district and more information about LSSP and ICON!
Our district board is doing great! We ' ve having monthly meetings via Google + Hangout and recently, we created the budget for the year! We ' ve allotted plenty of money for another great Fall Rally, in addition to travel money for our board members to visit you all at your schools! I personally look forward to getting to know you all and serving with you guys!
Our board will also be traveling to Kamp Kiwanis, May 30- June 2, for our District Officer Training Conference( DOTC), in conjunction with the Key Club and Kiwanis boards! It will be a great bonding experience! In addition, I ' ve been talking with the Key Club governor, Jenalee Beazley, and the Kiwanis Governor-Elect, Windy Mortensen, and I ' m excited to say that there will be many more service opportunities, fundraising ideas, and K-family activities for you all! However, all we can do is collaborate on ideas and promote K-family activities. It ' s up to you guys to make sure they happen!
Third on our district updates list is Club Leadership Education, or CLE. Typically, all of the boards within the district get together for formal training, as well as collaboration. But due to the Southwest ' s large geography, this has been difficult to in the past. Therefore, the Southwest will be having a CLE in Arizona AND New Mexico. We hope to establish set dates for the coming years as other districts do.
Be on the lookout for the information packet for everything you need to know about traveling to Vancouver this summer!
Check out what LSSP is all about with this video from last year!( You might even spot a few SWD CKI’ ers!)
Last is LSSP and ICON. By now, I hope you ' ve seen our new profile and cover photo on our Facebook Page. Our On-To International Convention( OTIC) Chair and Immediate Past Governor, Omar Perez, has been working hard! He ' ll be providing an information packet to you all including things to do in Vancouver and travel information. I hope to see you all there! It will be a great experience traveling internationally and meeting CKIers, Kiwanians, and some Key Clubbers from AROUND THE WORLD!
Again, I look forward to meeting you all! Please feel free to contact me at any time! Actually, the first person to email me at " alee. cki @ gmail. com " with their first and last name, favorite Disney princess, and why, will get the first visit from me and the executive board. We ' ll bring pizza.
I look forward to at least one reply!:)-Andrew
