Bright Falls
Saturday 25 april
2019 saw Thurles band Bright Falls
garnering a headline show on the Saturday
night of the Féile Beag Festival as well as a
slot at Féile ‘19 in Semple Stadium, opening
the festival for headline acts Sinead
O’Connor and The Stunning.
Bright Falls debut EP ‘Logging’ was released
in July 2019, produced by Martin Quinn of
Jam studios (Aine Cahill, The Strypes).
Inspired by Americana and Alternative-
Rock in the vein of artists such as Drive-By
Truckers and Neil Young, Bright Falls are
writing music with a strong emphasis on
the storytelling aspect of songwriting. The
project of songwriter Eddie McCormack,
the four piece band play live here at The
Source in promotion of the release of a
new double A-side single, with another
release scheduled for later on in the year.

University College Dublin, Paul
Rouse presents a talk on how
sport and politics collided on
Bloody Sunday 1920.
Professor Rouse is the author of
a number of books on the history of sport in
Ireland, including the recent The Hurlers: The First
All-Ireland Championship and the Making of
Modern Hurling, which was published by Penguin.
