New Podcast Covering the 2020 Election
HARRISBURG, PA - Pennsylvania is one of a hand-
ful of states that will decide the 2020 Presidential
Election. One reason Pennsylvania is such a grand
prize is that it is the state that lost the Presidency for
Hilary Clinton and won it for Donald Trump.
Since Pennsylvania tops the list, Pennlive.com
is starting a new podcast called Battleground PA
that will offer weekly episodes and feature guests
who know the ins and outs of PA politics and the
upcoming Presidential campaign. The podcast will
be available weekly on Thursday’s and begins on
September 12th.
The Podcast will be hosted by Pennlive opinion
editor Joyce Davis, and its two regular anchors will
be Jeffrey Lord, who will represent the Republican
Party and I will represent the Democratic Party. Jef-
frey and I are on different sides of the ideological
spectrum. He was one of Donald Trump’s biggest
and vocal supporters in 2016, and I was a delegate
to the Democratic National Convention for Hillary
Clinton, and I continue to believe Trump must be
defeated next year.
Topics covered on the podcast will vary but all
will be issues covered by Presidential candidates
and therefore on the ballot next year. Issues will
span from gun control, immigration, healthcare,
and abortion to education, climate change, and the
U.S. economy.
Jeffrey Lord is an author and political strategist,
who served as an associate political director in
the Reagan Administration and worked as a com-
mentator for CNN and other media outlets. He is a
frequent contributor to PennLive’s editorial pages.
His latest book, “Swamp Wars,” was published in
2019 and details the profound differences between
Trump’s movement and old-guard politics in Wash-
ington, D.C.
I am currently the elected Chairwoman of the Dau-
phin County Democratic Committee - the youngest
woman and only African American to currently hold
the position in Pennsylvania. I previously worked
for the Democratic National Committee and the PA
House of Representatives, where I spent 10 years
writing and creating policy. I am currently working
on my first book entitled, “Madam Chair,” which de-
tails her experiences as an African American wom-
an in politics.
The Podcast will be available on the following for-
mats: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify,
and Stitcher.
