person doesn’t need to be a communication major to let their voice be heard. To get involved in local or state government all a person needs is a strong and efficient message. From student government association’s to rallies anyone can get involved in any way shape or form. But why should people get involved in their government?

Seth Leto, is an alumni from Southeastern University and a former SGA president. Leto is now an achieved Governor’s Fellow who is working with representatives in the state capitol. Leto explains why students should be active.

Leto grants that all students should be proactive, because people should be well-informed about what goes on daily that could affect them.

“So much of the decisions that are made at the state capitol affect college students. The last special session, had a lot to do with higher education funding, like TOPS funding and grants. Really they should just be getting active, being proactive, and making a difference.”
