What ’ s the best advice you ever had about how to be more creative ?
I ’ ve always appreciated the reminders that it ’ s OK to have a slow period where you feel less-than-creative .

" GET OUT THERE AND DO IT ! THAT SOUNDS SO DUMB , BUT SERIOUSLY ."

What ’ s your best advice to others about being more creative ?
Get out there and do it ! That sounds so dumb , but seriously . Take whatever idea you have in the back of your head and run with it . When I am in a rut , I give myself about a week of down-time to let things rattle around . Sometimes that is all it takes and I am good to go again , but sometimes I need more of a push . If that ’ s the case , I will go ahead and pull out random supplies and just start using different materials to write or draw . Eventually , an idea gets sparked and a few times I have ended up finding new techniques that make for really awesome future projects !
What ’ s your favorite thing you ’ ve ever created ?
A couple of years ago I partnered up with my boyfriend to create a music video for some friends of mine from home ( Denver .) I hand-lettered the lyrics to the song and we figured out how we wanted to show them in the video . It was a cool project that I 100 % want to do again because , naturally , there are a million things I want to change about the now old video .
So , what ’ s next for you ?
I am heading into a super busy time , which is exciting . I have a couple of companies that I am working with to develop their brands a bit so they have a clear personality and focus . It ’ s always fun to work with brands at the start to create everything from logos to the voice behind the brand . Also , the Philly area blogger conference , The Blog Connect , is getting ready to kick into planning gear . I am the Creative Director of the conference and have been brainstorming different ideas about how that should evolve in its second year !
