‘ Our Town ’ re-scheduled to accommodatefootballgame

Matthews Marketplace at Community Center Saturday

Matthews Area Chamber will be sponsoring the annual Matthews Marketplace from 9 am until 2 pm this Saturday , November 12 . A chili lunch will be served for $ 5 in the Matthews Community Center ' s Banquet Room from 11:30 until 1:30 pm .

Arts Place Blackford County Arts Center will be exhibiting art work by the ALCOVE Artists Club , from October 31-December 16 , 2016 . The exhibit includes art work by the 11 members of the art club and their artist friends . The art features a variety of mixed media art and sculptural pieces .

Arts Place Blackford County Arts Center will be having a Holiday Art Shoppe on Saturday November 12 , 2016 , 9:00 a . m . -3:00 p . m . There will be several artist vendors in the Blackford County Arts Center selling handmade items , including paintings , jewelry and pottery . This event is free . The vendors such as signs , home decor , benches that convert into a picnic table , framed photography for wall hangings and cards . Also , knitted items and personalized t-shirts will be sold . Hair products will include drawings for haircuts . Products and order forms

‘ Surviving the Holidays ’ offered for those in grief

“ Surviving the Holidays ,” a special program designed for adults who are grieving the loss of someone close , will be presented on Friday , November 18 , 1-3 pm , at Grace United Methodist Church , Hartford City . Light refreshments , a DVD presentation , and time for discussion and sharing will be provided . Each person will receive a booklet , " Surviving the Holidays ," which will help participants navigate their way through Thanksgiving and Christmas . Christmas Ornament class this Thursday at BCAC

A Christmas Ornaments Needle Felting Class will be held on Thursday , November 10 , from 9 am-noon . A second class will be held that same evening from 6-9 pm . Classes will be held at the Blackford County Arts Center .

Carol Tropf will be teaching the class . This class is open to the public and limited to six people . Cost is $ 25 per person and $ 4 for material cost .
