Bicycle trip planned for Upland area Greenways

Upland Area Greenways Association is planning a 13 mile bicycle trip with Wandering Wheels on Saturday , June 17 , from the Jonesboro Trailhead to Sweetser Switch .
Participants may meet at Wandering Wheels in Upland at 9 a . m . or Jonesboro at 10 a . m .
The group will leave Jonesboro at 10 a . m . arriving in Sweetser at approximately 12 noon . Participants may bikeride back to Jonesboro or ride the Wandering Wheels truck back .
This will be a free trip and we encourage everyone to wear their UAGA safety yellow t-shirts . Free t-shirts have been offered the past 2
years . This year , remaining t-shirts or any needing to be ordered will be $ 10 .
Lunch arrangements will
be made in the next couple of weeks . Please call 765- 998-7747 , if you would like to participate .

Sign up for summer music lessons at The Arts Place

Arts Place , Blackford County Arts Center and The Portland Center of Arts Place are accepting registrations for summer MusicWorks lessons . Adults and students may enroll in individual instruction . Lessons begin June and continue through July 21 . Instruction will be held at Arts Place , 131 East Walnut Street in Portland , Indiana and 107 West Washington St ., Hartford City , Indiana . A limited number of scholarships are available for individual instruction . Scholarships are based on financial need and commitment to study .
MusicWorks is one of the oldest comprehensive music education programs in East Central Indiana . All instructors are highly trained professional musicians . Individual weekly lessons are available at the Portland Center and the Blackford County Arts Center in band instruments , strings , piano , voice , and guitar .
