The annual ski trip took place on MLK Jr weekend once again. 50 brothers made the 8 hour drive to Deer Lake, Wisconsin where everyone stayed in one cabin. Saturday morning the skiers got up to go to Indian Head Ski resort in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, while some brothers stayed behind at the cabin. Many PDC members had not been skiing before but thankfully there were some very experienced brothers there to show them the way. After a long day of skiing, everyone headed back to the cabin where more brotherly activities took place. Games were played, playoff football was on the screen, and everyone was having a blast. Sunday consisted of a long hike through the mountains. The scenery was beautiful and peaceful; something you don’t get to see much of in Chicago. The weekend trip ended Monday morning as everyone helped clean the cabin up and made the 8 hour drive back to Chicago. Ski trip weekend is a great bonding experience. It is a great time to get to know and hang out with brothers that you don’t often get to see due to conflicting schedules. It is an excellent way to kick off the new semester and one of my favorite weekends of the whole year.
