Externship Employment Fair:

PDC Alpha Sigma hosted its annual Externship Employment Fair during the lunch hour in 2N. The goal was for P1 and P2 brothers to speak with employed student Brothers about their experience and seek advice. Alpha Sigma brothers hold employment in various pharmacy settings such as community (i.e. CVS, Walgreens, independent), hospitals (i.e. VA systems, UI Health, Rush, Northwestern, University of Chicago), drug information and more. This is great opportunity for P1s and P2s to quickly get informed about all of the wonderful opportunities Chicago land area offers and get important insight on CV building strategies to optimize the candidates’ chance of getting the job that they want.

Relay for Life

On Friday April 6th, 17 Alpha Sigma brothers gathered at Loyola University to honor cancer survivors and caregivers at Relay for Life. Our brothers raised money for the American Cancer Society, and on the day of the relay, they walked from 6PM-12AM, through the night, symbolizing what our Worthy Master of Education and coordinator of our team, Kirsten Larson, described as a “celebration of life and loss.” She further explained, “You can just feel the energy when you are at Relay, and it’s contagious. This year’s PDC Relay group had so much enthusiasm about the event and made the night so much fun. We played games, ate s’mores, and bonded as brothers while supporting an inspiring cause. I know that those who attended, including myself, are so excited to go again next year and put a PDC stamp on the event."
