The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music ( YST ) at the National University of Singapore is a hub for contemporary Asian music-making . Established in 2003 , it swiftly gained renown as Asia ’ s leading international conservatory , bringing together a world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities to foster excellence in instrumental performance and composition . Expanding its scope , YST now offers specializations like Voice , Audio Arts & Sciences , Conducting , Music & Society , and Music , Collaboration & Production . With students from over 20 countries , YST champions the nurturing of identity as a catalyst for excellence . The Conservatory ’ s array of offerings has broadened significantly , encompassing a Master of Music degree , NUS-facing Second Majors , Minors and courses , Continuing Education & Training ( CET ) courses , and a Young Artist program . It also hosts numerous public concerts and events . Major contributions from the Yong Loo Lin Trust enable full financial support for all undergraduates . Additional donations provide access to fine string instruments and fund participation in international festivals , competitions , and projects . YST ’ s global connections extend to partnerships with music schools worldwide , including participation in music education alliances . It ’ s also an associate member of the European Association of Conservatoires ( AEC ).
