and it ’ s so gratifying . This has happened to me so many times as a playback singer , and I ’ m waiting for the day when this happens on an album tour , that would be truly incredible !
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business ?
The Internet has made music far more accessible than it ’ s ever been before . And now , streaming platforms have further democratised the process of making & releasing music . This is great news for independent artists because they no longer need the support of a major music label . Of course , it also means there ’ s so much content out there for the consumer and there ’ s a risk your music will just get lost in the vast ocean of content , but I ’ m hoping that some kind of order will eventually ensue in all this chaos !
Tell us about your practise routine . How long do you practise for ?
These days , not a lot , but I do aim for at least my major / minor / chromatic scales on the piano .
If there is a new instrument you would like to learn , what would it be and why do you choose the same ?
Oh , I ’ ve tried learning the violin but couldn ’ t devote enough time to lessons . I also recently did some guitar lessons as homework for a film . But it ’ s always the piano I come back to !
How do you train your voice ? Do you work with a vocal coach or do you self-learn any new techniques ?
Truth be told , it ’ s been ages since I ’ ve done any voice lessons , it ’ s simply too difficult to schedule music lessons because shoot schedules are so chaotic . I guess I just rely on all the training I had while growing up .
In an era when remakes of retro music is back . Whats your take on the same ?
It just shows that everything is cyclic , fashion , music , everything !
