How did you start the music store and where was your first store located ?
Our father Late Shri Hans Raj learnt the art of manufacturing Indian Musicals instruments from his ancestors in Lahore region since 1945 . There he learnt the art of manufacturing Indian Musical Instruments from the scratch . After gaining quality experience for over 15 years in 1962 he set up his own unit in Delhi . Initially Raj Musicals Manufactured , Exported and Retailed all kinds of traditional Musical Instruments . We take great pride in the fact that even today our Indian Classical String Instruments like Sitars , Sarods , Tanpuras and Sarangis , Dilruba , Rababs are sold across the globe and played by the biggest names in the industry .
The reigns of the business were passed on to us around 1980s . As we were already involved in the business since childhood we were already connected with the Musician community . Our father had always taught us to be in sync with the market trends . We were witnessing the influence of western musical instruments in the songs composed by legendary Music Directors . This paved the way for us to expand our business to Western Musical Instruments . Today we are authorized dealers for all the premium International brands in India .
What are the criteria you have to choose a brand ?
Our customers connect with us because of the honest hand holding that we offer them . Our aim is to not only be a point of purchase for them but also be their friend in their life ’ s musical journey . This can only be achieved of our customer have complete faith and trust in us and the products we recommend and sell . Hence , we are very particular about what we products and brands we keep in our showroom . We do a through background check on the brand , the product , the service support and the price points before investing and recommending it to our customers . We have had instances when we had to let go a brand because it didn ’ t meet our quality parameters . If there is a brand available in India and we do not deal in it is only because it didn ’ t meet our quality parameters .
