It ’ s something that we learn that it ’ s possible that the crowd is not responding to your music , but you should not feel bad , you give it your all . That energy will get transferred . The more energy you have the more energy you will give . It ’ s very important to believe in your songs . This was a learning .
Subodh : We make a pact before each show that we will enjoy our performance no matter what .
What ’ s the story behind the creation of ‘ Jaane Anjaane ’?
Austin : Most of our songs are usually written in Subodh ’ s room late at night . The same was the case for this song . One night Subodh came and expressed his feelings “ My girl did this to me and I felt that . I want to make a song out of it .” Now I have never been in a relationship but I was absorbing his feelings and putting them inside me . I tried to make a melody out of it . I tried to create a melody according to his feelings . After that night , I created an arrangement , and that instantly connected with Subodh . He wrote the lyrics to that sound in just one day . We ’ ve had a strong chemistry for the past 10 years , and whatever we create just blends together wonderfully .
Bhumit : When Subodh came to the rest of the band with the song , all three of us literally got different meanings out of it . Because we all could relate to it in a different way . I don ’ t think there is just one way in which a song can hit you . As long as the song is relatable to the listeners in one way or another , we can say that we have done a good job .
Are you nervous about how the song will be received by your audience ?
Bhumit : I have mixed feelings about it . I am always confident about Last Minute India ’ s songs . But we ’ ve moved on from this being a hobby for us during college to a full-time profession , and as we are growing up , our responsibilities have increased .
Austin : I am very confident that people are going to love the song . The song is getting released in June end and we can ’ t wait for everyone to listen to the song .
Subodh : We played this song at the Vibin festival at 5 pm when people had just started coming in and were only beginning to warm up to the music . The audience response was very positive . They were singing along with us and really enjoyed it . Based on that experience , I am confident that people will love the song .
We actually got our record deal because of the performance of this song at that festival . The office of the record label was right behind the venue . They heard this song , gave us a call to bring a demo of the song , and I and Austin were at their office the next day . It felt like it was right out of a movie .
You have been releasing singles for a while now , any plans for releasing an EP or an album ? What is your strategy behind it ?
Subodh : Releasing an EP and an album are surely a part of our future plans . We just have to wait and watch how quickly that happens . A lot depends on our next couple of releases .
