The album starts with the song ‘ What a Shame ’ and ends with the title track called ‘ Starlight ’. ‘ Starlight ’ is a song that Peekay has performed before , but having it as the last song of the album will hold a whole new meaning . In fact , a lot of the songs of the album have been written over the time span of five to six years . This is strong hint that the fierce boldness of evolution will shadow entire album . The set of tracks will move through the themes of depression , feelings of defeat , having fun , and selfreliance . Peekay has hinted that the song ‘ No Ordinary ’ is surely going to be a hit . It is not just a fun song , it will also accompany a fun video directed by Apoo Mahi featuring Vaibhav Modi ( kathak ), Nenita Praveen ( Bharatnatyam ) & Apoo Mahi ( Hip Hop & freestyle ) where they have used the force and energy of Indian classical dance fused with Rock music .
She has worked with her longterm collaborators Jonathan Edward for production and Keshav Dhar for mixing and mastering the Album . Peekay acknowledged that these are the people who know her , and know exactly what she wants to say and how she wants it to be said . Talking about them , Pranati mentioned how continuing to learn new things is the only milestone she has ever set for herself , and by surrounding herself with talented and skillful people , she has been doing well at coming closer to achieving it . Talking about goals in life Peekay said “ I do not have dreams of winning awards , or having ‘ n ’ number of plays of my songs . Although those are great motivating factors , I have only ever aimed at gaining knowledge and expressing myself . If in this process my music can touch the hearts of even a few people , then I can die peacefully .” She also proudly mentioned that she can now set up the stage for a gig without any tech support .
Even though Pranati is happy with her path to reach her goals , she clarifies that the path has had its fair share of obstructions . “ When you are an independent and unsigned artist , you have to do a lot of things on your own , alone .” She mentioned how creating music while also doing the PR , marketing , distributing , planning tours , and maintaining the momentum simultaneously can be a taxing job . These days , an artist cannot keep on releasing new music without keeping the listeners engaged on social media . And one cannot keep the fans engaged without releasing new music from time to time . The cycle needs to be in continuous motion . A song can get thousands of plays in a day on Spotify , but the number can drop to a couple of hundred if new music isn ’ t released at the right frequency .
Regardless of the challenges , Peekay has given her all to this album . She is confident that the upcoming album will be received with a lot of love and positivity . In fact , she has already planned a multi-city tour for ‘ Starlight ’ starting from 20th August till mid- September .
