Taus : Essentially a string instrument used by Sikh Saints and has a devotional element to it . The Taus literally means peacock , and rightfully the instrument is shaped in the form of peacock . Though the sound resembles a bit of Saarangi- a contemporary Hindustani instrument , there is a unique historic sound associated with it . Listen to Sandeep Singh ’ s rendition of this rare instrument and travel back in time !
Sundari : True to its name , the instrument is beautiful to look and heard mellifluously . Similar to the contemporary Shehnai with 7-9 holes . With its origins from ancient Gujarat , the instrument is vastly used in folk numbers . With respect to the size , it is relatively smaller than shehnai : giving scope for vilambit playing and highly suitable for Taraanaas .
Get into a world of spiritual bliss by hearing solos of these instruments which acts like a ear and soul purifier !
