Guide To The Least Pressing Issue: Surviving A Zombie Apocalypse

Have to run? Have to hide? Zombies at your side? What do you do? Well, you take out that lucky pen and jab at them!

Well, hopefully, you don't (depending on the circumstances). A zombie apocalypse, being a fictional event, has many different variations. The zombies could be fast like in some versions or slow like in others. They may even also eat plants like in Plants Vs. Zombies. Then again, this being a theory, there may never be zombies (until some scientist comes around). Either way, many people have prepared a method to survive a zombie apocalypse. Even the U.S. government has made a plan, CONOP 8888, to fight a zombie outbreak (although it was made for training purposes). But you can't always rely on the government in a zombie apocalypse. So here are some few things that should be done to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Quickly decide where you'll be going. The outbreak will cause many people to drive away from the outbreak's origin as fast as possible, causing many public safety and traffic issues. Knowing this, you may want to stay home or go to a nearby building. Buildings that will most likely be safer to stay in are fortress-like buildings like hospitals or schools. Just don't go to dangerous places like a hospital, where infected people may be. Remember, try to go to places with a less dense population.

Find food and water. Sure, your building may already have food and water, but how long will it last? Assuming that your city/town gets overtaken and you can't expect help to come soon, then you have to know the nearest source of food and water to survive. If the outbreak is a recent thing and society is still running, there's a good chance that there will still be running water. Find a way to store water from your sinks and bathtubs. When it comes to food, that will be trickier. You could risk going to a supermarket (or other stores) to try and get food, but that wouldn't be a permanent solution. If it's possible to set up a garden/farm where you're staying at, do that. The garden/farm would be a steady supply of food, but you may need more depending on the available farming space and people to feed.
