Now that Facebook owns the Oculus rift brand, it can be used for social media. Gizmag.com believes that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook has big plans with the Oculus Rift. Imagine if instead of talking to people through a video call, you can virtually see them in front of you thanks to the Oculus rift? This headset might even be one of Facebook’s greatest investments.

Headsets can potentially bring rise to the next generation of pilots, police, doctors, nurses, and etc. The Oculus Rift can create a virtual environment that places the person in a situation where they can get practice for their job. For example a pilot can put on the headset to pretend they are flying and the goal would be to land it correctly. If this were to happen, there might be an increase in these majors as people will deem it “safer than how it was before”.

Self driving and the Oculus Rift are a perfect combination. Why just stare out the window or look down at your phone all the time? Especially when you can put on the headset and experience the best environment ever.

It would be no surprise if in the future, movie theatres were to start using these headsets to improve the overall watching experience. Movie theaters might start to bring in more customers if watching a movie made the watcher feel like they are in the movie.

Oculus rifts would be perfect for all those people who hate exercise, which are many. If one has to exercise anyway, why not run on treadmill with the headset on while running away from a mob of zombies? Or maybe trying to run to someone? In any case, the Oculus has a huge potential to reach this market.

While the Oculus Rift can improve our daily lives in the future, we are still not there. Until then, all we can do is wait.

Although this article is mainly about the Oculus Rift, people have to know that this is not the only one in its kind on the market. Other alternative VR headsets are: Sulon Cortex, Avegant Glyph, Altergaze, Durovis Drive, and Project Morpheus. These options are highly recommended for those who do not like the prices of the Oculus rift. The price of the Oculus rift is expensive to many because of the brand. If you don’t mind having an “ugly looking” headset that has the exact same functions as the Oculus rift, then any of the ones mentioned above are good. The Sulon Cortex and the Glyph headset are $499 while the Altergaze and Durovis Drive are below $100. Project Morpheus has still yet to be priced. These are great alternatives for gamers who can’t afford the Oculus rift.
