in physics

4.July 1894- Maria earned a degree

5.July 1895- Maria married Pierre

Curie

6.September 1898- introduced the

term “radioactivity” to the world

7.July 1898- announce the discovery

of radium and poloni

8. December 1903- Marie earned a

Nobel Prize in physics with her

husband

9.April 1906- Pierre died in an

accident

10.November 1906- Marie became the

first female professor at the

Sorbonne

11.January 1911- She didn’t get

elected to the French Academy of

sciences

12.December 1911- Awarded Nobel

Prize for chemistry

13.August 1914- Radium institute

completed

14.1914-1919- Marie operated mobile

X-ray unit during WWI

15.May-June 1921- She visited the

United States to receive a gram of
