OOn the 28th of November 2016 was a huge shock to all football lovers. A 17 year old plane crashed near Bogota in Colombia that was carrying a Brazilian football team named Chapecoense. 71 out of the 77 passengers, including 19 of the 22 team members and one team manager of the Brazilian football club lost their lives in the incident. The flight originated from Santa Cruz, Bolivia and was scheduled to fly to Mendelin, Colombia. The flight path was 2,972km( 1,847 miles) but the planes range was 2,963km( 1,841 miles) so they exceeded the range of the plane, which resulted in the aircraft running out of fuel, which one of the attendants confirmed. The man in charge of the investigation stated there no evidence of fuel in the aircraft.
ACCIDENT
The plane declared an emergency because of an electrical failure at 22:00. A few moments later plane disappeared from radar at an altitude of 10,800ft( 3,300m). The rescuers could not arrive before 02:00 because of thick fog in the area. There were initially 7 survivors but one later died in hospital. The last survivor was found at 05:40. 71 people died including 19 team members 1 team manager and 4 FOX sports commentators.
