Everything I have been given the opportunity to speak and better understood though the teachings and tools of Talking God that deal with the home. My friend Joanne Roan taught me that within a home the mental, physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs should be met. My grandma Martina Curley had taught me that Talking God is our example of perfection and gives the blessings and teachings we need to keep our homes in order. These teachings encompass and bring balance to everything in the universe so it makes speaking easier for me. Any stage fright? How do you handle it? I have stage fright when I am under stage floodlights. It is hard to deliver speeches or perform when I can’t see somebody I know, like my mom or my friend Sonja, in the audience. When giving public speeches, what topic do you feel was the most important to you? And/Or…What is the single most important message you continue to convey to your audience? The most important message I feel I communicate is the importance of prayer. It’s a tool to ask for help and guidance in every aspect of life and to show your gratitude to your creator. Prayer can be used in a very personal way and it can be used to bring people together. Its election year, as a member of the Navajo Tribe... What did you learn and are convinced are important issue(s) on the Navajo Nation? Humility. What are your goals for the next 5 years? I want to receive a Master of Business Administration. I have considered competing for another title and I may consider it again in a few months. Accomplishing my academic goals is very important to me right now. Maybe I’ll have a family by then. We know you can sew… How many outfits have you made specifically during your reign? I made an outfit for Miss Tohatchi Middle School this past weekend. My mom and I have been making my outfits during my reign. I’ve been cutting out the patterns, since my mom is the better and quicker sewer. I have about fifteen skirts and ten shirts we’ve made. I accumulated so much fabric this past year that I didn’t even touch because I was going to school full-time and was busy with my events. I am so glad Silverdust, downtown, carried skirts for when we didn’t finish outfits in time. What do you want to say to all your current supporters, colleagues, and the ceremonial office staff? I would like express my appreciation to everyone who supported me and gave me encouragement during my reign. I was grateful for the powerful friendships I have developed with other young women who were and are title holders across Indian Country. The Ceremonial Board, the Navajo Nation, and the City of Gallup has kept in close contact with me and guided me throughout my reign and for that I am thankful. Whoa… I have about 4,840 Facebook friends, give or take a few Brazilians. Name one actor/actress you would love to meet? I WILL meet my future ex-husband Johnny Depp. One day. Favorite place to buy jewelry? The Gallup Flea Market. Favorite book? Amelia Bedelia Were you bullied as a kid? Yes, but then I stopped eating my boogers. Dogs or cats? I hate cats. Let’s leave at that. Manicured nails or Paint your own? I don’t paint my nails. How many traditional outfits do you own? I believe I have about 25 skirts and about 10-15 shirts altogether. I know.
