C elebrated as one of the most popular Miss Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial Queens, in recent years, Miss Cody Jansen, is preparing to pass on her crown, Saturday, August 9, 2014, at by the night perforangelee mance of the 93rd Inter-tribal lillian Annual CeremoniIndian al held at the gorgeous Red Rock State Park Arena in Gallup, New Mexico. It is unlikely, but mostly unfortunate, if you haven’t heard of Miss Gallup Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial Queen Cody Jansen, since she has become a celebrity on Navajoland and now holds over 4800 cyber fans on her popular Facebook page. At age 23, and recently accepted into the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Business, it is without a doubt, that this wittybright-eyed-beauty has reign worthily on Navajoland and The RESource is proud to feature her in a final hurrah. 32 august Volume 1 Issue 008 Clan: Kinlichiinii nishli, Bilagaana basashchiin, Honaghaanii da shichei, Bilagaana da shinali Biography: My parents are Delores and the late Jan Jansen. I am the sixth out of seven children. I am from Coyote Canyon, New Mexico and I graduated from Tohatchi High School. I received my Associate Degree in General Studies from the University of New Mexico. I am a student at the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Business where I hope to gain a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. What are the responsibilities of Miss Ceremonial? Official Title: Miss Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Queen. My responsibilities are to impart traditional knowledge and teachings to those I serve and come into contact with, as Miss Ceremonial. I represent and share with more than my own tribe, as Miss Ceremonial. I am able to do this by having active roles in community events and school assemblies as a speaker and a flutist. I also promote the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial which is on its 93rd year, is a New Mexico True event, and embodies the virtues of Native American Peoples. Once again, it will be held at the Red Rock State Park from August 6th to the 10th. What have you learned about yourself this past year? I have learned I am able to do far more work when I forget myself and I have learned my family is the most important part of my life. Reminiscing the past twelvemonths, what accomplishment are you most proud of? I am most proud of my personal mental and spiritual growth. I found out I was capable of so much more when I applied myself during my reign. Staying busy encouraged and highlighted my growth in those areas. What motivates you to achieve your goals (any goal)? My relationship with my family and my Heavenly Father motivates me to achieve my goals. Through prayer I have come to understand everyone has boundless potential and that my abilities and talents are meant to help others. Everyone in my family has helped me with my goals that were meant to make my life better. What is your greatest failure (any failure in life), and what did you learn from it?
