HELP YOUR CHILD DEVELOP A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW THROUGH SCRIPTURE MUSIC

TRAINING OUR KIDS TO SEE AND THINK BIBLICALLY
How can we help our kids view the world and their place in it through the lens of God ’ s truth ? In Colossians 1:23 , the apostle Paul urges believers to “ continue in the faith , stable and steadfast , not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard .” We can equip our kids to hold firm to the hope of the gospel . It begins with teaching them the Bible and to look closely at what ’ s happening around them .
Have you ever gone on a wildflower hike ? Or have you ever watched someone as they bent low , peered through a small magnifying lens at a tiny flower , then flipped through a botanical reference guide ? This kind of dedication to detail is uncommon . Yet , it provides a good visual for training our kids to see and think biblically .
A worldview is how we see the world . How we perceive society has vast implications for the ways we

live . As we train our kids to see and think biblically , they ’ ll have the tools and knowledge to ask good questions about what they see in the surrounding culture . Like a botanist or hobbyist in a flower field , they can place a magnifying lens on a word , idea , or trend to see the details of what is truly being said or idealized . Then , they can return to their reference guide — God ’ s living and active Scriptures — to understand what He says about what they ’ re seeing .
How our children view the world — or their worldview — is important . We can actively help our kids develop a wholesome and biblical worldview so society won ’ t impress its own shifting ideas on our children by default . As culture rapidly changes trends , it ’ s essential to anchor our kids in biblical values that ground them in God ’ s truth and love . Then , when everything around them feels fluid and uncertain , they will stand firm in God ’ s powerful peace and promises .
USING SCRIPTURE MUSIC TO BUILD A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
Music has a powerful effect on our memories and spirits . Think about one of your favorite songs from childhood or adolescence . If you were to hear the first few notes played or lyrics sung , memories would likely resurface and rush back . Some songs may bring back pleasant memories from childhood . In contrast , others may remind us of heartache or the struggles of growing up into adulthood . Whatever the case , melodies act as powerful time capsules for our memories .
We can use the power of music to instill God ’ s peace and promises in our children ’ s minds and hearts . This was our prayer and vision at Scripture Lullabies when we launched our “ Hidden In My Heart ” Scripture music series in 2009 . We wanted to create music that delivers the power of God ’ s Word while reflecting His excellence and profound peace . Each song on our four-album collection delivers God ’ s truth in powerful ways so our kids — and listeners of all ages — can practice Psalm 119:11 : “ I have hidden your word in my heart , that I might not sin against you .”
