SOYA
O
f all vegetarian foods, soya products are my Manna,
most especially tokwa (or tofu), as I can eat it everyday
without getting tired of its usual taste. I can even eat it
without dipping it into a sauce; just a plain fried tasteless tokwa
with rice is enough to make my day. During my seasonal
vegetarianism, I use tokwa as meat substitute for popular
Filipino dishes like Kare-Kare, Afritada, Menudo, Lumpiang
Shanghai, Ginisang Gulay, etc. I don’t mind people calling me
‘Anak ng Tokwa’; it’s pleasing to my ears, actually.
That’s why when I heard about a free seminar on how to earn
using soyabeans, I got excited. Last August 2, 2014, I attended
that seminar at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
I was lucky to meet speakers Ernie Ordoñez, an agriculturist and
entrepreneur, and Professor Elmer Enicola of UP Los Baños.
Together with Ms. Rose Mary Aquino of Bureau of Agricultural
Research, they promoted the use of Organic Soyabeans – not
those bought from some wet markets as they were used as
feeds for animals. To be sure you get real and high quality
Organic Soyabeans, you may get in touch with the Department
of Agriculture in your region.
