“Spring has sprung, birds
are chirping’; spring is a
prelude to summer, this is
the time of the year where
one takes stock of those
New Years resolutions that
were meant to change ones
life in 2016– it’s only
three months to the end of
the year – are you still on
track with your
resolutions?
SEASONS OF NO
RESOLUTE
M
ost of us set aside
New Years as the only
time that we make new
promises to ourselves,
these include taking care
of our health, taking on
a new hobby, reevaluating the
relationships we have
and the illusive joining
the gym saga.
During this time there’s
an adrenaline rush of
positive emotions that
embodies these
resolutions. As we move
to February, March and
enter into Autumn –
each day brings with it
the death of the
resolutions.
When the Winter season
approaches the real
exodus of our
resolutions occur – we
become more and more
comfortable in the
routine of our
resolutions dying.
That voice, which used
to torment us with
utterances such as
‘Don’t go into another
summer fat’ becomes one
of the daily messages we
hear and simply ignore.

STRESS LESS
The gloomy cold winter
weather and the winter
food provides comfort and
act as a cushioning
blanket of wonderful
motherly whispers of
‘don’t worry my child it’s
too cold to do anything ke
winter goa tonya’. Who
would not want to believe
those words especially in
winter? This feeling
persist until such time
that the temperatures
start to warm up, the
early sunrises can no
longer be ignored and the
trees start to bloom green
leaves.

At first glance you convince
yourself surely it can’t be
spring, I have done nothing
the whole year – this year
can’t end. Well it’s fast
approaching to an end;
there are only three months
to squeeze in everything you
were meant to do. It’s never
too late.
