PLAN.
We all have 168 hours in a week, but if you
don’t figure out where those hours should go,
you’re relying on chance to get things done.
"Every night before I go to bed I plan out my
day," says Rahman, a 17 year old female
student from India. She figures out what time
she needs to wake up, and plans the rest of the
day in 30-to-60-minute increments. "By
planning everything out, one, I know I’ll do it,
and two—I know I’ll do it in a timely fashion."
Having a schedule means your better able to
focus your efforts.
STICK WITH WHAT WORKS.
Sure, there are a lot of apps out there. But
don’t automatically assume they’ll make you
more productive. one of the young scientists
experimented with using her cell phone to keep
lists and schedules. "But I found that writing it
down with pen and paper increases my
commitment. Writing it down with pen and
paper means I really have to do this. On a
cellular device it’s less real, less solidified to
me.". different strokes for different folk: find
what works for you
I would dare to add one more activity that
young people spend a lot of time on: i think
it goes without saying that young people are
the biggest consumers of social media, Most
of us spend half the day with our heads bent
focused on our twitter feeds, liking pictures
on Facebook, and posting pictures of what we
had for lunch
{ don't give me that look, i know you do it
too} . Night falls and you wonder what
happened to your Tuesday (the one you spent
watching TV and being on social Media the
whole day..
Our youth is that time of our lives when we
need to start making moves that will secure
our future in our old age. the best way to
start is to change the way you view your
time: ever heard of the saying "time is
money" well, its proper true. Your time
should be spent on activities that will ensure
your success,, long term and short term,
anything else is a waste of time.
So i found some nifty ways to help you
manage your time towards being more
productive. these were suggested by young
scientist genii {does not mean you cannot
apply these to your own life} and they made a
whole lot of sense:
BLOCK IN TIME FOR PRIORITIES.
If you want something big to happen, you need
to dedicate time to it, even if you don’t know
exactly what has to be done. by blocking in
half an hour or more most days towards your
goal, you will make progress. Progress leads to
results.
REMEMBER THAT BIG PROJECTS ARE LOTS OF
LITTLE PROJECTS.
When we have a lot going on, it’s easy to feel
overwhelmed and give up. But breaking tasks
down into doable chunks helps a lot. "I found,
with school homework, if you have 50 exercise
problems, you can do five problems here, five
problems there," says Eric Chen. These small
steps make a big assignment easier to finish.

Seeing what other young people are able to do
with the same amount of time you have in a
week should light a fire under your bum lest
you get left behind by progress.
