Rea was named a 2017 Top 100 Firm by INSIDE Public Accounting.
Rea’ s New Philadelphia office was named the“ 2017 Best Accountant” in the annual Times-Reporter Readers Choice Award.
Renee West( HR / New Philadelphia) received the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation Scholarship Award from the National SHRM Foundation to assist in the purchase of study materials and exam fees for the organization’ s highest credential, the SHRM-SCP.
Mary Beth Koester( Dublin) passed the Certified Valuation Analyst exam.
Chad Varano( Dublin), Nouiy Kline( Dublin) and Rachael Pelagalli( Mentor) passed all four parts of the CPA exam.
Brian Garland( Dublin) passed the Certified Information Systems Auditor exam.
Dee Webb( New Philadelphia) completed the final section of the Qualified 401( K) Administrator exam.
Chris Axene( Dublin) was appointed to Rea’ s board of directors.
Allie Hinton( New Philadelphia) earned her master’ s degree in forensic accounting and audit services from Ohio Northern University.
Ann Cole( Medina) retired after 44 years with the firm. Nancy McConnell( Cambridge) also retired after serving the firm for 20 years.

Zac Morris( Millersburg) published an article about financial statement mishaps in the Ohio Association of School Business Officials’ newsletter.
Chris Axene filmed a video about why the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center is important and why the City of Dublin should continue to invest in it.
Scott Moyer( Zanesville) danced in the Dancing With The Divas charity event. Scott raised money for the Nicholas Barry Muscular Dystrophy Benefit Fund. Scott and his dancing partner won the“ most money raised” and“ fan favorite” awards.
Mary Beth Koester was named to the editorial board for Veterinarian’ s Money Digest. In October, the publication also published an article by Mary Beth. The piece was about the importance of business valuations for owners of veterinary practices.
Katie Snyder( Wooster) was named to the Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio’ s board of directors.
Katie Brown( Zanesville) joined the board of ForeverDads.
Dave Cain, Melane Howell( Dublin) and Brent Ardit( Dublin) became advisory board partners for the Columbus chapter of The Entrepreneurship Institute.
Joseph Giorgio( Medina) was appointed to the Medina Young Professionals Association board of directors.
Charlie Fast( Wooster) was appointed to serve as treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Wooster.
Chuck Battiato( Cleveland) was appointed to the board of Lakewood Catholic Academy.
SAYING GOODBYE
Laurie Braun, a manager in Rea’ s Mentor office, passed away in September. She will be remembered for her ability to brighten up the office and the lives of everyone she came in contact with during the day. Laurie always found something kind to say about everyone. Her professionalism was outstanding and her ability to bring fun to the workplace and social gatherings will be missed by all of us.
