Universities have job boards available for companies to post career opportunities and job fairs will allow you to target the qualified prospects. 5. Prescreen candidates. Structure a pre- screening program to evaluate the competency and overall potential of prospective employees. This step will help you eliminate unqualified prospects before you get too far into the recruitment process. Chad Welty (Medina) served as a moderator during various sessions of the Government Finance Officers Association’s Annual Conference. Chad Gorfido (Me- dina) gave a Single Audit Update and Paul Weisinger (Cleveland) presented on succession planning at the event. Brian Ditz (Cleveland), Susan Kornatowski (Cleve- land) and Dustin Canterbury (Wooster) were featured in a series of videos produced by the Ohio Society of CPAs about accounting as a second career. Cindy Kula (Cleveland) and Susan Kornatowski spoke to Keep it Local Cleveland about small business tax strategies and financial planning tips. Cindy Kula presented at the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio on the topic of under- standing the legal and financial aspects of practicing medicine. She also participated in a panel discussion at the Female Entrepreneurial Summit on mitigating risks when starting and growing a business. Finally, she spoke at the Ohio Society of CPAs’ Cleveland Ac- counting Show on creating tax and financial planning opportunities for all life stages. Joe Welker (New Phila- delphia) also presented at the Cleveland Accounting Show. His topic was “Protecting Your Assets.” Chris Liebtag (Dublin) was also asked to speak at this event. His topics were “Identifying, Elevating and Breaking Constraints” and “The Role of Lean Six Sigma In De- veloping High Performance Organizations.” Rea hosted Manufacturing Education Day for Holmes County-area manufacturers. Presenters included Kyle Stemple (New Philadelphia) and Dustin Raber (Wooster) on strategic planning; Chris Liebtag on Lean Six Sigma; and Scott Zielaskiewicz (Medina) on nex- us and state & local taxes.
