Albany Community Impact Center Grand Opening

Southwest Georgia Reentry Initiative hosted the Grand Opening of our Community Impact Center (CIC). The CIC, housed inside of the Goodwill Career Center in Albany, Georgia, and is open to the public each Monday from 9:30 to 1:00pm. It is a one stop shop location where individuals we serve are able to access multiple agencies and programs in one location. Help can be found with everything from food, clothing, hygiene supplies, education/vocational, employment, mental health and substance abuse services, housing resources and access to medical care.

Clayton Healthcare Fair

Clayton Circuit Community Coordinator Carolyn Johnson hosted a Healthcare Fair at the Clayton Office in partnership with the Clayton County Board of Health, Changing Phases Treatment Center, and the Affordable Healthcare Act Enrollment team. The goal was to connect those we serve and their families to wrap around health care resources that they may need. The attendees received an interactive HIV, STD and other infectious disease presentation. They were also offered the opportunity to have free HIV screenings, sign up for mental health screenings and the opportunity to enroll for assistance for free healthcare. This event resulted in 89 attendees, of those attendees 45 registered for free healthcare assistance, and 35 received free HIV screenings.
