Giving is good

February has come and gone , and with it the end of the financial year . With the new fiscal year ahead , businesses and individuals should consider the benefits from donating to the PPS Foundation , a registered and qualifying public benefit organisation . After donating using the safe and easy-touse platform , donors receive a Section 18A certificate which allows for a beneficial tax deduction . But more than that , PPS Foundation donors find joy in the knowledge that their generosity nurtures the potential of our country ’ s future graduates .
The Foundation runs several programmes . Through its flagship bursary programme , in 2020 it comprehensively funded the tuition , books , accommodation and meals for more than 50 students who primarily pursued science , technology , engineering and mathematics ( STEM ) qualifications on various academic levels ( from second year up to post-graduate honours degrees ).
COVID-19 also called for a rapid change to the academic framework to integrate remote teaching while reducing the risks of infections among learners , students and educators . To provide support during the transition from
contact learning to e-learning , the Foundation worked closely with academic institutions by awarding sponsorships to assist students to obtain digital devices and to provide them access to data resources .
Since its establishment in 2016 , the Foundation has on average funded 60 students annually and intends increasing this number to help grow individuals who will form part of the next wave of economically empowered professionals .
These are individuals who will , upon completing their studies , focus on advancing themselves and making a positive impact in society without having to worry about the barriers
