season started on 1st April with the Inter-Faith Pilgrimage and thereafter there
are many groups who come on pilgrimage to England’s Nazareth. Many are Diocesan Pilgrimages but
there are many individual parish pilgrimages.
Sunday, 7th May saw the first of the Tamil Pilgrimages,
regarded as the smaller of the two as only about 5000
attend! The main one is on Sunday 9th July, when they
expect to cater for 12000! One of the most colourful
is the Syro-Malabar with their Indian costumes and
highly coloured and decorated umbrellas fringed with
bells.
Annunciation we had the Maundy Thursday Mass
for the whole parish followed by the procession of the
Blessed Sacrament to the Dowry House, where the
Sisters’ chapel accommodated the Altar of Repose. The
church is then taken over by the members of Student
Cross who use it until we can take it back on Easter
Day. So the congregation attend the Shrine for the
Good Friday and Easter Vigil rites.

THE ORDER OF MASS
We usually have “stray” visitors who, no doubt,
wonder what is going on. If any Ordinariate visitors
find themselves at the Mass, please make yourself
known to us as we would love to meet after Mass for
tea and a chat.
Walsingham Catholic Parish has three churches other
than the Annunciation: St Henry Walpole, Burnham
Market; St Peter, Blakeney; and Our Lady Star of the
Sea, Wells. The parish is served by the Marist Fathers,
assisted by two retired priests (both of whom are ex-
Anglicans).
