SPORT// NETBALL U15A VII P8 / W7 / D0 / L1 This has been a fantastic season for the U15A netball squad, with just a 5 goal deficit against a very strong (and extremely tall!) Yarm team standing in the way of an unbeaten season. Ruby Remblance and Jessica McDowell have formed an extremely strong shooting partnership, which has continued to improve throughout the season. A goal difference of well over 100 is testament to their accuracy. Lucy Hatfield at centre has been invaluable. Her effort in all areas of the court is second to none and her opposite players have all struggled to keep up with her fast paced playing style. Evie Taggart U15B VII P4 / W2 / D0 / L2 A mixed season for the U15B’s Playing four and winning half their matches, with two games sadly been cancelled. The season started strongly with a convincing win away V a strong Queen Mary’s side. Then Losses to Hymers and Queen Margaret’s followed, both high class opponents who overpowered and Amy Jordan have been solid in defence, determining the result of many of our fixtures with their commitment to disrupting the opposition’s attacking play. In all but one of the victories, the opposition have scored less than 10 goals. With the addition of Maddie and Evie Parkinson, playing up from 3rd year, this is a team with a huge amount of talent across all positions. Evie’s versatility and willingness to play either GA or GD, and make a massive impact in either position, has been a huge asset. Maddie’s attitude and performances week in, week out, have been flawless. She reads the game with ease and has become known for her fantastic feeds into the attacking circle. Players of the Season: Maddie Parkinson Most Improved Player: Evie Taggart us. The season finished with a strong win Vs a Good Yarm side. have defended well and contributed in our transition play well. The Girls have worked hard to improve their game throughout the season. Groombridge and Woodall have combined well to form a solid shooting partnership, with reliable service coming from midcourt. Rumgay, Wedge, Scanlon, Jagger and Smith all doing a solid job of transferring the ball up the court. Howie, Frost and Gilby Congratulations to all for a solid season. P8 / W4 / D0 / L4 A mixed season for the girls where a few more wins would have been nice to reflect the hard work they have put in. All girls have been committed to training and developing their play. Over the season, we have worked on our movement and communication up and down the court and especially within the D. They worked hard for their wins in particular at Scarborough College with a nail biting finish 7-6 to us! Leadership THE POCKLINGTONIAN All seven wins have been comprehensive, often by at least 20 goals, and have therefore allowed the girls to develop their skills in unfamiliar positions. I am excited to see the impact these girls will have on senior netball and look forward to the prospect of them entering the U16 National Schools Netball competition next year. Ellie Douglas, Emma Mackay, Emma U14A VII 62 Rumgay, Hannah Hornshaw and Lauren Gaze have also contributed to this very successful season. Player of the Season: Louisa Smith Most Improved Player: Teal Woodall has been shared around the team and each unique style of captaincy has prepared the girls well for the match. They have a bright future ahead. Player of the Season: Lizzie Wake Most Improved Player: Phoebe Anderson
