Rye is one of a species that grow wild in central and eastern Turkey and in adjacent areas .
It is the most resistant cereal , able to adupt to barren soils and cold , rainy climates . It tolerates acid , sandy soils .
Leaves Its without petiole .
Flowers The flowers are hermaphrodit and consist of three stamens and an ovary , hairy at the apex . The rye only bears the three flowers of which only two are fertile .
-Its smooth and narrow .

-Leaf vein pattern -there is only one vein on the leaf what appears in the middle of the leaf .
-Leaf shape base is uneven . -Leaf shape overall is sword .
