GASTRONOMIC USE
AND OTHER USES
The soft fruit is popular for use in desserts,
jams, seedless jelly, and sometimes wine. It is
often mixed with apples for pies
and crumbles. Blackberries are also used to
produce candy.
Seeds contain oil rich in omega-3 (alpha-
linolenic acid) and omega-6 (linoleic acid)
fats as well as protein, dietary
fiber, carotenoids, ellagitannins, and ellagic
acid.
Blackberries contain
both soluble and insoluble fiber components.
Cultivated blackberries are notable for their
significant contents of dietary fiber, vitamin
C, and vitamin K.
MEDICINAL USE
This plant is useful to treat the anemia and for
protecting from cancer. The flowers are
antiasthmatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic,
digestive and expectorant.
With the essential oil that you can make with this
plant can be used as an antiseptic solution for
wounds, ulcers, sores, etc.
Part of his parts (his flowers, leaves, fruits and his
sprouts) have properties that are benefy, like
they’re anti inflammatory, antipletoric and
refreshing, antihypertensive.
A few more of his medicinal properties are that
they’re also astringent, odontalgic ,diuretic,
antidiabetic and hemostatic. It can also be used
to add a fragrance into the syrups and it also has
laxant effects. With his leaves, it can also be used
against the baby diarrea.
