Through The Eyes Of JAYCEE

Singer At "A LIGHT DIVIDED"

13 venues every local band has played

The lights! The stage! The crowd! The sweat! The adrenaline that courses through your veins the second the music starts! It's all part of the ultimate drug we call live performance. Let me explain. As lead vocalist in my current band for the better part of a decade, it never mattered how many shows we played in a year, it only mattered that the following year, we play even MORE shows. I didn't care if it was in a bathroom! As long as it had a PA, I was down to play. Anything to avoid the dreaded feeling of not being on stage. The "itch". Fortunately, we as bands haven't had to resort to entertaining people on the crapper just yet. Instead, we have these thirteen types of venues whenever we need a fix.

1. HOME BASE

The band's safe zone. You've plastered the town with flyers, sent out thousands of event invites on facebook (with zero shits given in regard to where they live), and you know for sure that your friends, significant other, supporters and even mom are dad will be coming out tonight and they'll all be there to see you! This is your city, and it's time to show those out-of-towners exactly how your city gets down! Sure it may not have the biggest stage or the best sound, or the best well...anything, but dammit - it's home!
