Kavita's Recipe for Something Sinful

KAVITA UTHRAPATHY shares with us her secret to throwing something together real quick, for when those pesky sugar cravings hit before bedtime - or when (hopefully not-so-pesky) guests come by unannounced.

This is how we do it

1. Vent your frustrations after a hard day’s work by placing the biscuits in a Ziplock baggy and pounding the hell outta them till they resemble fine breadcrumbs.

2. Practice your shiatsu skills and massage the butter into the biscuit crumbs and pack them tightly into the base of the martini glasses and place in freezer for about 15 minutes.

3. Grab the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract and use a hand-held mixer (or grab your muscleman and force him to do this for you!) to mix everything together until well-blended. Make sure that the cream cheese is at room temperature OR ELSE!

4. Throw some sliced strawberries into the jam and mix them up.

Putting it together

1. Spoon a layer of the cream cheese mixture onto the biscuit crumbs, then spoon a layer of strawberry ice cream, followed by the jam and then repeat with cream cheese mixture, ice cream and jam – you get the idea.

2. Pretentiously throw some sliced strawberries and a mint leaf or two on top and you are done!

;-)

Stuff you need

100g digestive biscuits – chocolate-dipped is more shiok

20g butter at room temperature – salted, unsalted, nobody really cares

1 package cream cheese at room temperature – none of the low fat stuff, for crying out loud!

50g caster sugar

1 tspn Vanilla extract – not the essence!

Some fresh strawberries, sliced

Your favourite strawberry ice cream – mine is from Movenpick (tried and tested: the best strawberry ice cream ever!)

Your favourite pretentious English strawberry jam – whatever you can get from Marks n’ Sparks

Fancy martini glasses
