ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICERS DE LA ROSA, DIAZ, BRINKMAN, VARGAS AND GARRETT
In the Field...
Even though September and our Fall months have arrived, the Texas heat is still here. It is still important to keep your pets safe and protect them from warm weather temperatures.
NEVER leave your pets confined in kennels outside, or without access to fresh water and shelter. Remember sidewalks and pavement can still become dangerously hot for your pets paws. Consider early morning or late evening walks and it is always best to double check the ground before heading out.
As always, if you see a dog or cat in distress from the heat, don’ t wait! Please call for help right away. A little caution can help save lives and our officers are ready to help.

UNWEANED KITTENS HEADING TO FOSTER CARE
DONATELLO RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE AT AAS
Rescue Partner Spotlight
We recently received a wonderful update about a Rescue Only cat who we all adored while in our care. Donatello came to AAS with a severe wound on his back. We have no idea what happened to him, but we are thankful he came to us when he did. We want to send a huge thank you to DFW Purebred & Domestic Cat Rescue who stepped in to save this sweet cat. Thanks to their actions and loving care he is healing and getting the comfort he deserves. Fosters make all the difference. Without them, a lot of pets in need would have no where to go, just like Donatello. If you have ever thought about opening your home to a pet in need, fostering is one of the most powerful ways to help save lives.
DONATELLO IN LOVING FOSTER CARE
Story of the Month
WOUND RECOVERY TODAY
Our cat and kitten rescue partners have made a massive lifesaving difference so far in 2025. When an unweaned( bottle baby) kitten comes into the shelter without a mom, AAS works with many rescue partners to find emergency placement for them. Rescue Partner, Averting Catastrophe has saved 134 cats and kittens from AAS so far this year. We are so grateful for volunteers and fosters who help make a difference every single day!
