National Walk Your Pet Month
January is National Walk Your Pet Month ! According to The American Heart Association , just 20 minutes of walking a day can help you think better , feel better , and sleep better . It also helps reduce your risk of serious diseases like heart disease , stroke , diabetes , and some types of cancers . It just takes 20 minutes a day to feel better and we wanted to share some tips and tricks for fun and safe walks with your furry best friends !
Remember , always stay alert . While we know listening to music is a great way to help the time pass , make sure it is at a low volume or maybe just wear one of your air pods instead of both . It is important to be aware of your surroundings . Look out for other people , cars , and other animals .
It is important to keep you and your pets safe while on a walk and in public places . While we know they are popular to some people , retractable leashes can be dangerous . Our team recommends not using these types of leashes , especially while out on a walk in a public park . As a responsible pet owner , it is important to make sure you are always in control of your pet .
Don ’ t forget the poop bags ! Do the right thing and help keep our neighborhoods , parks and trails clean for our community . Picking up after your pet takes just seconds . While one pile of poop may not seem like a big deal , just think how quickly it could add up if no one picked up after their pets . And let ’ s not even think about how stinky that would be . Please do the right thing !
