Clear the Shelters Event 2025 Updates

Clear the Shelters is one of our favorite times of the year! This nationwide adoption event shines a spotlight on shelter pets and helps them find their forever homes. From playful puppies to senior cats, every pet deserves a chance to be loved and the Clear the Shelters Event makes that possible in a big way. It’ s truly amazing to see so many families grow and so many lives saved during this event!
Since kicking off in North Texas in 2015, the Clear the Shelters Event has helped more than one million pets find forever homes and has raised millions of dollars for participating shelters and rescues.
122 shelter pets from Arlington have been adopted since August 1, the event’ s kickoff date. In it’ s final week, AAS will offer waived adoption fees August 21-23. This only happens once a year, so don’ t wait. Adopt your new best friend today!
