are not sure if it is safe to do any part of
this exercise, do not try. In this case it is
best to consult your doctor.
Follow these instructions:
1. Find a quiet, comfortable place. You
can do this exercise in a chair or lying
down.
2.
Close your eyes, if you are
comfortable doing so. However, if you
have experienced traumatic stressors
(such as serving in military combat or an
assault), you may want to keep them open.
This can help you stay “grounded” in the
“here and now.” Do what is most
comfortable for you.
3.
Take a few slow, deep breaths.
